The Baderem ancient mill
THE HOUSE
You enter the house via a dirt track from Sorisole, a town 415 meters above sea level, between the plain of intercollinare Petosino and the top of Mount Canto Alto (1146). The territory is crossed by two rivers: the Morla, with its underground caves, and Quisa and is characterized by some wild and unspoiled views, including the valley of Baderen.
800 meters from the house is the center of the village of Sorisole with small neighborhood shops.
Bergamo center is 8 km away.
The international airport of Orio al Serio is located 13 km.
THE MILL
The inner surface of the mill is on two floors, respectively, about 50 square meters each, while externally the property is surrounded by a garden and a wood. In the lower floor there are a kitchen area, a bathroom and a living room with sofa bed, while the upper floor has a master bedroom, a studio room with sofa bed and bunk beds and a bathroom. The unifying point of living is represented by the fireplace.
ROOMS
The building has been completely refurbished and includes the ground floor a double sofa bed, while the first floor there is a room with a canopy bed and another with 3 single beds, one in the loft.In addition, there are also 2 bathrooms.
RESTORATION
The building probably dates back to the eighteenth century and has been left for many years, in a state of disrepair. So the current owners have found and, despite having changed the intended use, a mill in the country house, they have opted for a conservative restoration. Unfortunately the mill wheel was not present, but in the environment where the present living, some work items have been recovered including the stone in which it was turning the millstone, and some parts of the latter made pudding (stone conglomerate) now used to decorate the house outside.
